Yes. Membership dues are as follows:

Do I need to buy a costume?
Most likely, no. We have costumes available for use, but if you already have one, that's awesome. However, you will need to buy personal items, such as boots or dance shoes and practices skirts for the girls. Guys will need to buy their own costumes, but we provide hats, sashes, and bows.
Is there a time commitment?
Not necessarily. If you pay the membership dues, you are welcomed to come to practice whenever you can make it. However, please keep the following two exception in mind:
1. If you want be part of a performance, you must commit yourself to come to ALL the practices for the TWO WEEKS before the performance.
2. If you wish to partake in Miztontli-sponsored events (socials, get-togethers, retreats, etc), there will be requirements that include participating in a number of events, which are made up of a combination of performances, fundraising events, and other group events.
Also, please note that in order to perform you must know the dances well enough, especially if you'll be doing a solo. So, as long as the requirements mentioned above are kept, there is no other time commitment in you part.
What are the benefits of joining?
Great question! The grand majority of our members (if not all of them) join mainly because they see ballet folklórico as way of expressing their culture to others and as a getaway from daily routines. However, because we know that a club must also help their members in different ways, beginning on FALL 2011, GFM will begin offering the following services to all ACTIVE and ASSOCIATE members:

YES! If you become a Miztontli Member AND are a UA Student, you have the opportunity to run for election to one of the Executive Member (Officer) Positions. These may include the following, depending on the need for officers:
